Because I'm the mom and I said so
Jan. 10th, 2004 07:36 pmIt wasn't nice when I had it said to me, and you know what? I'm not so crazy about saying it either.
Today's the first time I've had to say it and had Jess really be cross at me for saying it. (Aside from don't touch the stove, it's hot, kinda things)
The first step in the journey between Me 'n Jess and Mom vs. Jess.

Date: 2004-01-11 01:54 pm (UTC)We usually race every Saturday (during the season) and when you race you have to be extremely focused on what's going on. There are no cell phones, no nothing. You can't get back to land if you had to (unless you lost a limb and were bleeding profusely or something of course.) For four or five hours a week it's this one huge, tough adreneline rush/release/challenge that you have to meet or not bother coming back the next week - and it's all mine.
I guess I'm a bit of a nut, aren't I.

Date: 2004-01-12 04:51 am (UTC)I know it sounds nuts, but when I was a kid, I could lay my hand on the boat and it would talk to me. I could hear how happy it was to be free and flying against the wind. And the energy and excitement would run up my arm and fill me. It still does, somewhat, though I think the "common sense" that comes with "maturity" kind of dulls the senses somewhat.
Please feel free to remove me from your friends list now that you have some idea what a psychopath I really am.
