Apparently, acording to Aliant, my internet connection is working again.

Would somebody please tell that to my computer?

Yeah, so when I called them over the weekend they said they were going to do a test within 24 hours and if that didn't fix it they'd come over on Wednesday. If it got fixed in the meantime, would I please call them and let them know? Yeah? Ok? Sure. Thanks.

So... No internet. No Internet. No Internet. So I take today off as holiday time since they couldn't tell me when they'd be here. I called them first thing this morning, just to make sure they were still coming and guess what. They're not. They've fixed it. It was a faulty card on their end and now everything is all hunky-dory.

Um...

Wait now, no it's not.

Ok, fair enough, but when I unplug the router and plug my modem right into my computer it still doesn't work.

Oh, yeah, well you need software to make it work. The router makes it so you don't need the software. It must be your router. We can mail you the software if you like.

The router was working just fucking fine before. Why is it not working now? I have reached the limits of my computer savvy, I'm afraid. Fuck. Fuckity fuck fuck.

And yes, I have unplugged, rebooted, and fucking asslicked every piece of electronics within a 3 mile radius of my computer. Fuck.

Suggestions? I'm on dial up nows and I've already overtaxed the poor bird's bill hammering away on the piece of slate in the back, but fuck it.

no really, you need other people to help you, not your tech support. they suck, as you already know. also, if they HAD fixed the damn motherfucking thing, (sorry) then they should have CALLED YOU TO MAKE SURE IT WAS WORKING>

ok, so i'm not in the best of moods either and your computer dilemma is making me really mad too. dont these people realize that we work from home, pay bills online, etc. we cannot do without our internet anymore. this isnt 1990 or some other year when we didnt do all this stuff.

also, as an aside because i dont know when you'll break the little birdies bill once and for all.....do you have Bank of America there? because we have it here and they are doing a promo where everytime you use your ATM/debit/visa card (the one that hooked into your checking account) they will take the amount (like $21.33) and round it up to the next dollar ($22.00) and put the change in an account for you; well it has to be YOUR savings account. the money comes from them though....so that's up to .99 on each transaction. then after a 3 month period they match that amount with a percentage and add it to your account for YOU. the promo here is that the first three months are matched 100%, after that it will be 5% every three months; but still it's FREE money!
