Life is not tried it is mearly survived if your standing outside the fire

I will wait in the silence until she returns
To melt the frozen prison round this fool who never learns
Every living thing that's born must have its end
What winter takes away, spring brings back again

How can I explain, your love is all in vain
While he wastes your precious hours
I could fill your days with flowers

It's all right, You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy - or anything

I wanna walk and not run I wanna skip and not fall I wanna look at the horizon And not see a building standing tall

Sunrays and Saturdays
Perfect starry nights
Sweet dreams and moonbeams
And a love that's warm and bright
Sunrays and Saturdays
Friendship strong and true
Oceans of blue and a room with a view
To live the life you choose
(gah, this one gets me right... there)

But you'll just sit tight
And watch it unwind
It's only what you're asking for
And you'll be just fine
With all of your time
It's only what you're waiting for

Isn't anyone trying to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home?

I want to wake up where you are.
Put your arms around me, what you feel is what you are and what you are is beautiful.

You give me the most gorgeous sleep that I've ever had.

There are more, but, of course, I'm having a brain fart right now.

What are yours?

**Edit**
Whole songs are good, but you don't need to put the WHOLE song if it's only one or two lines that get you. For example, Em wrote "Cut steel wired into water". That whole song - Turn - is great, but that line in particular strikes a real chord. If the whole song does it, by all means, s'all good.

And if there are more than one song/line... go for it. I don't think there's a limit to the number of posts, are there?

Evil EVIL woman. My life is ruled by soundtracks and you ask me to pick ONE? ONE????

Who do I choose? Bruce Cockburn? Steve Winwood? Joni Mitchell? Mary Chapin Carpenter? Dennis DeYoung?

Yes, Styx. The Grand Illusion

Welcome to the Grand Illusion
Come on in and see what's happening
Pay the price, get your tickets for the show
The stage is set, the band starts playing
Suddenly your heart is pounding
Wishing secretly you were a star.

But don't be fooled by the radio
The TV or the magazines
They show you photographs of how your life should be
But they're just someone else's fantasy
So if y on think your life is complete confusion
Because you never win the game
Just remember that it's a Grand illusion
And deep inside we're all the same.
We're all the same...

America spells competition, join us in our blind ambition
Get yourself a brand new motor car
Someday soon we'll stop to ponder what on Earth's this spell we're under
We made the grade and still we wonder who the hell we are

Happy now? ;-)

Oooh, I like that one :) Can't believe I forgot to put Styx in my list - 'cept I'd probably have picked something from "Kilroy Was Here" - Cold War or Don't Let It End, maybe.

It really resonates with the years of my life between 1991-2001.

I was twelve when my father took me to see Styx play in Montreal - my second concert ever, and my first outdoors. It's one of my favoirte memories. :)
