Song Lyrics
Aug. 17th, 2004 08:56 pmLife is not tried it is mearly survived if your standing outside the fire
I will wait in the silence until she returns
To melt the frozen prison round this fool who never learns
Every living thing that's born must have its end
What winter takes away, spring brings back again
How can I explain, your love is all in vain
While he wastes your precious hours
I could fill your days with flowers
It's all right, You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy - or anything
I wanna walk and not run I wanna skip and not fall I wanna look at the horizon And not see a building standing tall
Sunrays and Saturdays
Perfect starry nights
Sweet dreams and moonbeams
And a love that's warm and bright
Sunrays and Saturdays
Friendship strong and true
Oceans of blue and a room with a view
To live the life you choose
(gah, this one gets me right... there)
But you'll just sit tight
And watch it unwind
It's only what you're asking for
And you'll be just fine
With all of your time
It's only what you're waiting for
Isn't anyone trying to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home?
I want to wake up where you are.
Put your arms around me, what you feel is what you are and what you are is beautiful.
You give me the most gorgeous sleep that I've ever had.
There are more, but, of course, I'm having a brain fart right now.
What are yours?
**Edit**
Whole songs are good, but you don't need to put the WHOLE song if it's only one or two lines that get you. For example, Em wrote "Cut steel wired into water". That whole song - Turn - is great, but that line in particular strikes a real chord. If the whole song does it, by all means, s'all good.
And if there are more than one song/line... go for it. I don't think there's a limit to the number of posts, are there?

J'ai perdu ma maitresse, sans l'avoir merité, pour un bouquet de roses que je lui ai refusé.
Cut steel wired into water
A dancer moves in subtle tones - moves across the floor so gracefully. We all have the same bones, they just move in theirs a little more deliciously.
Meet me at the oasis, bring your Bedouin tea and your silver spoon; meet me at the oasis, drop your veil, descend the dune; we'll drink down the moon.
And many, many more.

Date: 2004-08-17 06:55 pm (UTC)Heaven on earth with an onion slice
Not too original, not too nice
Its just a cheeseberger in paradise
Heard about the old time sailor men
They ate the same thing again and again
Cheese and bread enough to raise the dead
It reminds you of the menu at a Holiday Inn
Times have changed for sailors these days
When I'm in port I get what I need
Not bananas or Havanas or daquaries
But that American creation of which I please
Cheeseberger in paradise
Not too particular not too nice
Its just a cheeseberger in paradise
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potato
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Good god almighty which way do I steer
For my cheeseberger in paradise.

We'll put our dark glasses on, and we'll make love until our strength is gone
And when the morning light comes streaming in, we'll wake up and do it again.
Amen
I'm going to be a happy idiot, and struggle for the legal tender
Where the air is clean, the people dream, and the junkman pounds his fender
And believe in happines lies, in the things that money can buy
Though true love could have been a contender
Say a prayer for the pretender
He started out so young and clean
Only to surrender
Here ya go..

[Midi File (http://www.genesis-midi.com/midis/genesis/manytoomany.mid)]
Many too many have stood where I stand
Many more will stand here too,
But I think what I find strange is the way you built me up
Then knocked me down again.
The part was fun but now it's over,
Why can't I just leave the stage?
Maybe that's because you securely locked me up
Then threw away the key.
Oh mama,
Please would you find the key.
Oh pretty mama,
Please won't you let me go free.
I thought I was lucky
I thought that I'd got it made.
How could I be so blind?
You said good-bye on a corner
That I thought led to the straight.
You set me on a firmly laid and simple course
And then removed the road.
Oh mama,
Please help me find my way.
Oh pretty mama,
Please lead me through the next day.
I thought I was lucky
I thought that I'd got it made.
How could I be so blind?

Yes, Styx. The Grand Illusion
Welcome to the Grand Illusion
Come on in and see what's happening
Pay the price, get your tickets for the show
The stage is set, the band starts playing
Suddenly your heart is pounding
Wishing secretly you were a star.
But don't be fooled by the radio
The TV or the magazines
They show you photographs of how your life should be
But they're just someone else's fantasy
So if y on think your life is complete confusion
Because you never win the game
Just remember that it's a Grand illusion
And deep inside we're all the same.
We're all the same...
America spells competition, join us in our blind ambition
Get yourself a brand new motor car
Someday soon we'll stop to ponder what on Earth's this spell we're under
We made the grade and still we wonder who the hell we are
Happy now? ;-)
