Another day, another $0.7483 (USD)

Yes, another exciting day at work has drawn to a close. A day where...(drumroll) I won a contract-ish. Ok, didn't exactly win it, but was given the nod that it would be won by the end of the month. There, I've gone and jinxed it now. Pah.

I got... (looking at "to do" list) NOTHING! I got absolutely NOTHING accomplished off my to do list today. YAY ME!

I spent 85% of the day doing IT stuff. Getting everybody switched over from the old server and stuff. By 10:30 everything was working and everybody had access to everything they needed were all quietly working away happily. Then POOF! For some reason my computer decided that I didn't have access to anything anymore. It keeps logging me out. Loverly. So no work email, no access to files, no nada. S'alright, cuz not long after that everybody else started having problems too, so I spent much time wandering from office to office doing IT stuff. I'm going to change my business card. Ya know, I like doing IT stuff. It's different from AM stuff and... I dunno, I just like it. But I gotta tell ya. When you fix the same thing over and over again, and it still doesn't work, and you don't entirely know what you're doing... well, i'm sure it's frustrating to those of you who DO know what you're doing, but when you don't... by about 4:00 I was ready to tell the IT people to get on a fecking plane and come do it themselves!

Anyway. I'm remotely working now - for now... we'll see how long that works. There's a big IT meeting all day tomorrow, so no tech help available - if it breaks again I'm just going to call in sick, I think.

Big exam tonight. I did the online quizes last night and got between a 95 and a 53, and the 53 was on the quiz that had all the ratios (aka: math) - which he said he woudn't be asking about, so I think I'm good to go. Not that that means I'm going to stop studying, the exam isn't for another 2 hours and you can do a pretty decent amount of cramming in 2 hours.

Wait now, upon review, I actually got 2 things done on my to do list, so it's not as bad as I thought.

I got the notification that I'd been accepted into the spring HR course (because it's an intensive course you need to be ok'd by the prof - the same prof that is giving the exam tonight. The same prof that I had this dialogue with. I don't think he had a problem ok'ing me. So that's good. But it also said I have to pay for said course by the 16th. So gotta come up with $500+ smackers by Friday. (Can you say VISA?!?! I knew you could!)

Ok, off to study about heuristics and satisficing and groupthink and a 100 other stupid jargon-type terms that I will quickly forget by about 10:00 tonight... Hey... by 10:00 tonight this class will be HISTORY!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!
