Sorry it's taken so long to get the all day breakfast buffet up this morning. IN the future, if you find there's nobody at the hot plate serving up the hashbrowns, please feel free to make yourself at home and start some coffee.
The special of the day is waffles with real whipped cream and strawberies.
Spent most of the morning here at work (yes on my day off) trying to put a new server in - with no luck, I might add.
Dammit, Jim, I'm an Account Manager, not an IT guy!!!
But that's ok, I dig this kinda stuff, and it's not like I get to play on servers at home, so it's all in the name of a little hands on learning. And I get to add a couple hours to the OT bank.
Speaking of adding hours to the bank... here's some fun/good news.
I have... are you ready for this? I have signed up for a summer course. Yes, yes, I know I swore I woudn't. I swore I'd take the time off - relax over the summer... put my feet up and such. But no, I'm stupid, so shoot me.
But the good part is the course. It's a Human Resource Management course, half a credit, which will leave me only a scant half a credit away from the certificate... and here's the best part. It's only TWO WEEKS!!! Yes, two weeks as opposed to 2 and a half months. It's two weeks, from Monday to Friday, from 1:00 - 3:45. Intensive stuff, but BOOM, in two weeks I've got a half a credit!!!!! And the best part is, that I've approached my boss and gave her the sob story on how the company doesn't support professional development and I *have* been working on my degree all by myself without any support from the company, and the fact that the HR management course was VERY in line with the work I'm doing... and she has agreed to allow me the aftenoons off for two weeks to get this course. So I won't need to dip into my vacation!!
Even Dick is excited that I'm taking it (translation: Dick is excited that I'm getting a half credit during work hours and will actually be home *before* I usually do when I'm at work, and we will not require a babysitter for those evenings I take the course, *and* I will be one course closer to having all this foolishness over with!)
Sadly, I have to come up with the tuition - which means more $$s on my visa, but a body has to do what a body has to do. On top of that, I just made an impulse purchase and put a dock/rechargable batteries for my digital camera on my visa too (at $140 cdn).
When I get home, the visa is going in the freezer. It's the only place I can put it that it doesn't get used.
Ok, I'm gone - but the kitchen's still open. Somebody eat up the last of these waffles.
