I wanna hear people.

I wanna know what you all sound like. I know Tbird sounds like my step-mother. I suspect Belle sounds like... well... I dunno - though I picture her sounding rather like a bouquet of a bunch of different accents. I think Simon M. sounds like my cousin, as he only lives around the corner from him. I *thought* the other Simon would as well - as he only lives around the corner in the other direction, but he tells me he's got more of a Londonesque accent. Em probably has a French accent... What about the rest of you?

Lately I've been feeling like everybody here is just part of a novel - that this is more of an interactive story book than people's lives - so I want to hear you.

Simon (that would be the Silicon Simon) didn't you play around with sounds in LJ? Is it possible to do so? If not, what about posting .wavs to a website and linking to them. Just small ones: "Hi, this is Anigo from Canada. My favourite colour is Green, My favorite season is Summer and I spend way too much time in front of the computer" That kind of thing.

Can we do it?

*snif* I can't. Wish I could. Best I could do is phone you, but I don't know if you want to do that. For the record, my speaking voice is a mezzo-soprano which goes up an octave on the phone because I get nervous on phones. Accent-wise, I've been told I sound somewhat English.

How do you sound "somewhat" english?

What's your native tongue?

Somewhat English, in that I immigrated to Canada from England when I was very small (four months) and spent the first five years of my life surrounded by English and Scottish people who came over at the same time and for the same reason as my parents, and spoke French at school until I was eight. I never really lost the accent. My little sister doesn't have it, because we'd made more Canadian friends by the time she was talking.

:) For example, she says (and writes) 'Mom', and I say and write 'Mum'.

My voice is fairly deep and a bit scratchy ('cause of those nasty old cigarettes), with a touch of Jersey (no, not like the Sopranos), and a touch of Southern that surfaces when I least expect it. ;)

Smoking is bad, young lady, stop it at once (waggling a finger at you)

But that still doesn't let me hear you.

*sigh* I know it's not a nice thing, but it's my one and only vice... sort of...maybe.

Maybe I'll be able to figure out how to do the voice thing here, but I'm not so great at figuring out any complicated LJ stuff.

That's exactly how I imagined you sounding with a bit of a southern "hi sugar" drawl.

this is a grand idea and have often wanted to do the same. Don't know if it is available, but it should be.

I have a very unique accent for this area. It's not hickish, nor southern. I'm not gifted with a northern accent either. I was raised in Nashville with a neutral city tone, and have just added my own style to it.

Well, if you have a paid account you can do phone posts... There's a whole section on it in the LJ FAQ.

However, I did it by recording my voice as a .WAV file, and putting it on my webspace then pointing a link to it like any other file.

Of course, it helps if you have some web space.

Love the idea, I'd like to hear what everyone sounds like too.

I lived in western Canada until I was twenty and still have a Canadian accent with a bit of a British clip. But I think I have lost a lot of it.It comes back a lot more when I visit my relatives up there. People down in the states have told me I sound like Princess Di but that's a gross exaggeration of my accent.Ithink my sisters sound like Princess Di! I imagine you have a scottish canadian accent. Am I correct?
