Feb. 22nd, 2004 09:45 pmIt's been a long weekend - that started on Thursday.
No work Thursday, Friday, (obviously Saturday and Sunday) and now they've cancelled Monday as well. This is mostly good, as I'm not infantisimally busy to start off with, but it makes it hard to *look* busy (thereby retaining employment) when you spend so much time away from the office and can return and not be swamped. On top of that, my babysitter's got a job now, and I need to "work from home" on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll be lucky if I'm not sacked by the time all is said and done.
We got all the hardwood floor down in the two bedrooms. We're in the process of putting life back together again, but Dick's run out of steam and I've got three assignments due this week, so we called a time out and went our separate ways for a while. I'm not even going to get into complaining about the assignments, as they take more energy out of me than I've got left in me. Needless to say, I've been at them for a bit, and my eyes are crossing. It's tough to do mental work after doing physical floor laying stuff since 6:00 this morning.... and yesterday morning... and the morning before that - not to mention all the shoveling. So I'll attempt to finish it tomorrow.
I'm digging hard to find three things to be grateful for. Not that I don't have anything to be greatful for, just that I'm too tired to think of them.
Ah, I know. I'm grateful that I can am going to have a hot bath as soon as I'm finished posting this. I'm grateful that I have a soft bed to climb into after I get out of the bath and I'm grateful that I have a bottle of ibuprofen and a heating pad that I will no doubt need tomorrow.
