(no subject)
Feb. 19th, 2004 07:33 amWell, apparently Richard's gone off the road and is down over a 5 foot snowbank about 5 or so miles from here. (He worked last night and was on his way home - fool, dunno why he just didn't stay at the hospital) Luckily he's not hurt at all, and there isn't any damage to the truck but he's ticked. (go figure)
I dunno what to do. There's no way da Mazda can get to him, 5 miles is a long way to walk in a blizzard and there is nothing commercial moving right now - tow trucks, buses, cabs. The ironic thing is, he's the one with the four wheel drive. He's the one other people call when *they* get stuck - so there's nobody else to call.Luckily it's not that cold out - only about -2, but the wind is wicked, so walking would be horrible. Sitting tight, however, wouldn't be so bad. Not great, but not bad.
I suspect that somebody will pick him up if he waits a few minutes (gotta love Nova Scotia for that - if anybody else is on the road, chances are they'll drive him right to the door. Good ol' Maritime congeniality.
Meanwhile, I'll just sit tight.
