Hello there, and welcome to another edition of It's just not my day I'm your host, Anig, and I'll be talking you through today's episode, wherein we discover that, yes, I should have stayed in bed this morning.

I woke up this morning, got in the shower and doink the shower head comes off in my hand. (It's not supposed to!) So I get to shower in a super high power jet of water about 1/2 an inch in diameter. The spots of my hair that I WAS able to rinse are bald from where the water blasted the hair and skin off my scalp.

So, The Kid does not feel like getting out of bed this morning, which is too darn bad because she still needs to finish her project for school. (Not much left to do, just put a title and her name, but stuff to do none the less.) I get her up and she managed to finish it without too much strife, however, as we're on our way out the door, she's swinging the thing around (it's a piece of bristol board with 100 marshmallows glued on it in the shape of a butterfly) and, yes, you guessed it, she drops it and half the marshmallows fall off. sigh

We glue them back on in a hurry, and we hustle out the door when out of the corner of my eye, in the junk mail pile, I see-----> A BILL! Yes, not a big deal, for sure, but the thing is that I pay the bills, and I'm usually very on top of them. As soon as they come in the house they get stuck to the bulletin board and then get paid on payday. I have a sort of house rule that says whatever bills are in the house when I get paid get paid, if they come in AFTER I get paid, then they wait for next payday. I got paid Friday, and paid all the bills, however there are two that aren't accounted for, which is unusual, but I figure maybe it's because it's February and it's a short month the bills are... I don't know... late? It made sense to me at the time - humour me. But I ask repeatedly during last week if he's seen any bills and his answer is always no. But lo, there in the junk mail pile, is a bill. And guess what. It's now overdue. On top of that, because I assumed (erroneously, and that's my own fault) that I'd paid all the bills that were coming, I now don't have enough money left over to pay the late bills - so I must make 100 dollars magically appear from somewhere. Haven't figured where yet. But I will. Because of the fact we're late because of the marshmallows I don't have time to search the pile thoroughly to find if there are any other bills, but it matters not, they'll be over due too.

To top it all off, I continue to be in the unrealistically grumpy mood which hit me yesterday. I feel incredibly guilty that I wasn't better able to entertain The Kid yesterday, it's -22 celcius outside and truly IMPOSSIBLE to try to pretend that spring isn't far away. My three day weekend seemed incredibly short, and it appears that the background paperwork for the project that I have due next week - the one that I only got assigned the group last week - is lacking in some very key graphs - apparently when the prof turned them into PDF files they graphics got screwed up.

But wait... what's this? Looking at my bank statement I see that I *have* actually paid one of the bills I was expecting. It must have come early or something - I DO have the money to pay the bill that I'm missing. LIFE IS GOOOOOOOOD!

So on that note, I have accomplished the first task that I set out to do, which is rant and get all the negativity off my chest, and now I can move on to the three things to be greatful for.

1) I am grateful that I have the greatest kid in the world, who even when I let her down still adores me.

2) I am grateful that the sun is shining, and even though it's -22 out, it could be only -2 but freezing drizzle, which would be infinitely worse.

3) I am grateful for Rosemary, who left a care package of two bite brownies on my desk for me to find this morning. (Brownies for breakfast.... mmmmmmmm!)

4) and, this last minute entry - I'm WAY grateful that somehow I paid a bill early and I do have money hanging around for a change. WOOHOO!
