Happy Val-Day-eh?
Feb. 14th, 2004 06:24 pmJust got back from the Gymanstics Complex where I've been volunteering for the Atlantic Cup something or other since 8:00 - which is rather a pain, as The Kid isn't actually eligible to compete for another 2 years but by being a parent automatically makes volunteering manditory.
I was going to take the time to send individual Valentines wishes to each and every one of you but right now I'm dog tired and all I want to do is sit back with my jumbo mug of organic grown italian roast fair trade coffee and reeeeeeeelax. Having said that, please know that I'm wishing individual warm and fuzzies to each and every one of you. Yes, you in the corner back there you too.
But before I go, I must give the manditory 3 things list, which I plumb forgot about until I opened this up.
1) I am grateful for the gymnists - god they're sweet. I am grateful that I spent a considerable amount of the meet on the floor with tonnes of kids sitting on my lap or with their arms wrapped around me. They're wonderful kids that are going to grow into wonderful adults someday.
2) I am also greatful that none of them got injured today, because let's face it, competitive gymnastics is right up there with Auzzy rules football for injuries.
3) I am greatful that they didn't kick me out of the gym when they realized after my tabulating the vault scores that I am COMPLETELY USELESS AT MATH. Trying to take a 1.9 pt deduction off a kid whose starting value vault was 9.3 more than once left the kid with a 8.6. (Oh, I am also grateful that they had somebody come afterwards and check all the scores.)
That's it for now. Maybe more, maybe not.
