Back to the grind
Jul. 14th, 2003 10:57 amBack to work - yay. Sense the enthusiasm in my voice. However, I'm carying my vacation with me.
I'm wearing the cool flowy orange dress I bought while I was on vacation, and I've got the attitude that vacation gave me.
I sailed yesterday, took the boat from halifax to chester and (cocky me) decided to do it without the patch. It wasn't so great. I took two bonamine before I left. I'd taken one before and it seemed to work ok, but about an hour into the trip, I could hardly keep my eyes open. I crashed super hard. Thom tried to keep me awake but eventually he kicked shane out of the settee and said I could go lay down. When the sleepy wore off, unfortunatly the nausia set in. However, i found out two things. First, if one goes below and goes horizontal and keeps ones eyes closed, one can keep from puking. Second, even when I feel like puking, I can go to the foredeck and drop and flake a jib in 25 knot winds. That impressed me.
So I'm back to work.
But I miss vacation already.
