Friday shite

Nine quick things about myself, as per the earlier meme and then off to do some yard work on my day off. (S'all really quite good). I will post about the Hair-Goopless Tom Petty concert later.

But now..

1. I'm a Sagittarius. Apparently they're Optimistic and freedom-loving, Jovial and good-humored, Honest and straightforward, Intellectual and philosophical. It suits me. On the other hand I suspect it suits a lot of people.
2. I have two dogs, a golden retriever named Lucy and a golden doodle named Zoe.
3. I have a 15 year old kid, who is referred to as The Kid, but if you stick around long enough or look back far enough you'll find her real name. Best. Kid. Ever.
4. I love sailing. Love it. LOVE.
5. I have a green crotch rocket. I got my motorcycle license 4 years ago and have moved from a 150 Honda CBR to a 250 Kawasaki Ninja to a killer Kawasaki ZX6. I suspect the ZX6 is still a bit too much bike for me, but that makes me respect it all the more and isn't a bad thing.
6. I have worked part time more than I've worked full time. I don't make bad money and don't mind not making more money. Life's too short to spend it behind a desk. On the other hand, life's expensive so you do have to spend some time. Happy medium.
7. I have a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. Actually I have a blue belt with a red stripe, which is one step away from a red belt which is the belt before a full black belt (Truthfully, it goes blue belt, blue belt with a red stripe, red belt, red belt with a black black stripe, black belt, so there are a couple of steps to go, but it's not far.) The club I used to go to shut down and I never bothered finding another. The Kid has her full black belt. The one thing about belts is you never lose them. The Kid will always be a black belt, even if she never ever kicks again, and I can go back and resume being a red stripe any time I want, and probably will some day.
8. I never went to university after high school. I went to trade school and took a secretarial course in 1988. I've been in university as a "mature student" since 2001 and in fact my first class was the day the World Trade Center was attacked. I hope to be finished in 3 years, but may end up graduating about the same time The Kid does. I know, crazy.
9. I believe in ghosts and UFOs, but I don't think either of them are prone to scaring red necks in cotton fields. I don't believe in a vengeful god with a beard and pearly white gates, but I do believe that there is a higher power. I'm just not sure if it knows who I am or has time to give a rats ass most of the day.

I wanted a Ninja so bad for the longest time but I went the reverse route and downgraded from a 250 Honda to a scooter. I think the scooter is one of the highest cc's available but it's still sitting in my garage with probably a dead battery at this point.

Sailing is so much fun, especially when someone else is at the helm! (I think I just feel at home on the water)
