Oct. 1st, 2011 10:17 amOops, missed a day. That's because we went out for the day on our motorcycles. Beautiful day, until I took a corner really poorly and ended up on the pavement. Not much harm done. Very little done to the bike and only a small bruise on my shin. Luckily I wasn't going fast. In fact I was barely going at all. Stupid bike is a dream when you're going fast, but it's top heavy, so when you're negotiating parking lots it's a bitch. Even Dickie, who has driven motorcycles since he was out of diapers says it's challenging. I've said from the moment I got it that I won't end up flying into the woods in flaming glory after negotiating a turn improperly, rather I will end up on my face in a Tim Horton's parking lot. Which I did. Not the Tim Horton's parking lot, but rather the drive way for a fish and chip shop in the middle of nowhere.
Ah well, it could have been worse, nothing hurt but my pride and surprisingly few scrapes on the bike.
Last night I had a finance quiz. I got 6/10, which for me is abysmal. Meh.
More on all of this later, for it's all stuff I want to ruminate about. Right now I have to go get ready for the last race of the season. It's the Rum Race. First place gets a trophy, second place gets a bucket of rum. I still have a cold and my whole body aches and shakes. Outside we're getting the leading edge of Hurricane Ophelia, and it's raining buckets and wind is forecast, so it's not going to be a nice, gentle, sunny and warm race by any stretch of the imagination. I would much rather stay home and watch a movie. I'm falling out of love with the sport anyway. More on this later too. But right now I have to get a shower and find my foul weather gear. Meh.
