anigo | Hello from Deer Lake

I am in Deer Lake, Newfoundland. To get here I got on a plane that I had to walk up some very tiny steps to get into. The pilot did the safety demonstration and banged on the cabin wall for good luck before he sat down. There was no door between me and the cockpit. If there were no walls on the plane, I could have reached out two feet and had my hand chopped off by a prop. There were no washrooms on the plane. My seat was an isle seat and a window seat at the same time.

At this moment I'm sitting in the departures lounge with (counting) 13 other people. (Up from 7 when I counted a few minutes ago) I suspect that in the whole airport there might be maybe 60 people, and most of them would be employees.

There are two gates.

And interestingly enough, despite the fact it's called Deer Lake, there actually aren't any deer around the lake. In actuality there aren't any deer in the whole province. There are, however, mosquitos big enough to be mistaken for deer.

Why am I here? Why the heck not. It beat sitting in the airpirt in St John's for 6 hours. Instead I took the earlier flight, and the long way home and got to visit Deer Lake.
