This is not getting housework done. However, in the interest of homework before I go see Master and Commander (which I'm hoping to see tonight... anybody seen it and have any comments?) I will post this - seeing for some reason quicktime is being a pain and not allowing me to view any of the trailers for the movie. Just out of curiosity, what is it with movie websites. I mean, I've got a fairly decent computer, and I have YET to go to a movie's website that isn't so bogged down with graphics and sound that my computer grinds to a complete standstill.

I have seen Master and Commander, and it is EXCELLENT. I'm a military history buff, and the Napoleonic war is my favorite one to learn about: and they got it right, as far as I can tell.

I bet if there'd been Smell-O-Vision, that ship would have STUNK :)

Added to which, there's a hobbit in it, and Russell Crowe is a GBS fan so is therefore great :p

The last time I went to see a movie like this (Ok, it was Pirates of the Caribbean, and it wasn't exactly a movie like this, but it had boats in it...) my husband nearly walked out on me half way through. He got tired of me pointing out inaccuracies. "There's no way that boat is going that fast with its sails luffing like that... If that was a *REAL* gybe, he would have been thrown overboard..."

I suspect that they've spent slightly more time and effort in getting this movie a bit more accurate.

(This is *still* not getting the floor mopped!)

I suspect so... but Pirates I didn't expect accuracy from. The delectable Mr. Depp was fun enough.
