it's funny, i just keep thinking of you at a work function or wherever and mingling with people and someone innocently asking what it is you "do" on day's off...you reply, "a bit of sailing" and there's this image of you on a quiet lake somewhere with a glass-smooth surface lounging in a small, non-descript, SLOW boat with a gently breeze ruffling your big floppy hat and you sipping a crystal glass of wine.
.....print this out and have it handy for those times, will ya? :D
Wow! Isn't that at least a 45degree tilt? Half the freakin' keel is out of the freakin' water. That's not just heart-pounding excitement,IMO,it's a formula for sheer terror...
Truth be told, the picture was taken at the start of a tack and it dips down a bit when you start. The boat doesn't usually sail at that much of an angle, in fact if it does, it's slower than if it were flat, so yeah, it's a bit unusual.

Date: 2008-08-19 01:40 pm (UTC)Had that a couple of weeks ago. Got out in a squall and saw 30 knots of wind and a thunderstorm to boot. It was INCREDIBLE! (Perhaps I'm insane)
Had a fantastic race week though. Thought of you often as you know who and I hung out quite a bit.
