Take yer regular every day coffee pot. Make yerself one half pot of coffee, however use a whole pot of coffee's worth of coffee. (With me so far?) My coffee of choice lately has been Just Us French Roast Decaf (Super Yummy coffee flavour, without the OHMYGODIVEHADCOFFEEANDNOWIMGOINGTOGOWALKONTHECEILINGABIT after effects.) So you've brewed yourself one monster strong half pot of java. Now find yourself a cup. This is important, because you're going to put ice in the cup and then hot coffee, so make sure you find the right kind of cup. This is not for your delecate Mother's China. Might even want to do this in something other than a cup, say a metal pot or something. Go ahead and try a cup if you want, I use a frozen plastic mug, but I'm not responsible if you get glass shards everywhere.

Ok, digressing... Get a cup, load it absolutely FULL of ice. Pour the coffee slowly on the ice until the cup is a little over half full. Top the rest with skim milk. As an optional nummyness, add sugar, flavoured syrups... whaddeva. i like it with just the milk. And I can have one now, at 9:07, and with the decaf still sleep tonight.

And sleep I will. Dick's working and The Kid is at the MIL's, which means that, once I've finished the laundry and this delicious cup of cold coffee, I'm going to go to bed all by myself and sleep like the dead.

I've found that coffee grinders work just as well with ice cubes...

My take on this was to take some good coffee, mix with cold water in a jar at a bit more than double normal strength, and then let it steep in the refrigerator. For a week or two.

Then filter, and serve mixed with milk et al (ice optional).

This was before I found out that there is such a process officially, complete with a special maker.

I remember T telling me about such a creation. Sounded really good at the time, and still does!
