Hello from Newfoundland.

Hey Em, I'm here! Rather, I'm stuck here. In Port Aux Basques. Yanno, there's not a whole lot in Port Aux Basques.

The story to now:

More travelling for work. Drove from Halifax to North Sydney on Monday to hop on a ferry... oh, yeah, I wasn't told I was supposed to be there at 9:00 in the morning on Tuesday until 10:00 in the morning on Monday. Did I mention it was a 5 hour drive? Yeah, that meant i had to run home, pack a bag really quicky, and head to a hotel in Sydney so I'd be all bright eyed and bushy tailed for meetings in the morning.

Yesterday mornign the meetings went well. The first one, at 9:00 was on the ferry while it was docked. The second was back at the hotel after lunch and the third was, again, on the ferry, but this time I was to stay on the ferry and take the overnight trip from Sydney to Port Aux Basques (about 7 hours) and then do the same thing there. So that's what I did. I would like to point out it was VERY windy and VERY icy and Very bouncy. I did not puke, though I wanted to. Sleeping on a rocking boat is heavenly, I must say. Assuming you're not gonna puke. Oh, I use the word "sleeping" loosely, as I didn't actually sleep. At All. But the feeling of being in bed on a rocking boat that's rhythmically creeking... it's the best.

So I got up this morning, did my session on the boat, got off, did a session at the terminal, and then sat down to wait for the next boat to come in so I could do my last session. And waited. And waited. And continue to wait. The boat has been "delayed" and is sitting off shore waiting for the 50 knot winds to die down so that it can unload and reload again. The rumour is that it probably won't actually be able to do that until some time tomorrow. So here I am. At one point I lost my suitcase with my clean underwear and tooth brush, but I've got it again, so I'm golden. I'm tired, but golden. And the town, while not having much more than a pizza place and a nursing home, has a ferry terminal with wireless internet. So I might be here a while if anybody wants to say hi, or Em, if you figure you could get here before, say, 10:00 tonight.... :D

hey this sounds like a good opportunity to get caught up on some of my friends posts!

I can't get to Port-Aux-Basques by ten tonight, as it's a very long (think - 11-12 hours) bus ride and ten o'clock is six minutes from now.

No, no there isn't a lot of stuff in Port-Aux-Basques. There's a cool train outside the hotel, though. That's good for at least an hour's entertainment, five whole minutes if you're a normal person.

Hi!
