Good Lord! I hope you're all right and didn't do major damage. While he pain may be horrendous, at least you can still feel. Burns that don't hurt - like from the tip of a soldering iron - do more damage, cause the nerves are fried.

It's amazing how much a burn can hurt, even a fairly minor one. I've said on more than one occasion with perfect sincerity that should I be in a situation where I've experienced a significant amount of burns over my body, let me die. Quickly. I can't imagine anything worse.
