Jul. 7th, 2006 08:37 amWell... I'm not packed, but I've got just about everything I need to get packed. One of my three meals is cooked and in the freezer. I'll do the second one today and the third one is just going to be oatmeal so I'm not too bothered over that. I'll have to run out and actually *get* oatmeal, and I need some money changed, but over and above that... Just about ready, I think.
It's been raining here for more than 40 days and nights. The neighbours have just about finished their ark. However, it looks like it might be sunny today and the forecast is calling for sun for as far as the eye can see. That's nice. Sunny is nice. Not raining is nice. The wind's been fairly light off shore for the past couple of days, so we'll see about that. There are no hurricanes forming at this moment, so that's good.
You've got to love my "That's good" list.
No hurricanes in the forcast - check
Nobody's dying of scurvy - check
There haven't been any large insurrections in Nova Scotia lately - check
Nobody's tried to poison me in the last 5 days - check
The sun hasn't reached massive red dwarf stage - check
Talk about looking at the bright side of things, huh.
Oh, that's something I wanted to do - program my cell phone with LJ's number so I can announce my arrival. Hmm... wonder if there are any St Pierre phone numbers.... doubt it. I know somewhere there's a list of phone numbers that *aren't* US, but I can't find them. Oh well.
Have had a few convesations with some of the other crew. These guys are all right. I think the trip's gonna be ok after all.
The Kid had a friend sleep over last night. They're downstairs right now playing DDR. With Lucy the Loveable Wonder Retriever. Lucy the Loveable appears to be an unwanted player at this point. I swear to god, if I could remove one phrase from my child's vocabulary it would be "LUCY, STOP IT!"
Let's see... blah blah blah... yada yada yada...
Um. Yep, that about covers it.
As you were.
