I Love Sailing. Dunno if anybody knew that or not, but I love sailing.

We raced both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was warm - too warm for long underwear. Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot of wind. But it didn't matter. We laughed. A lot. And we sailed. And we were back. And we were on the water. And it was good.

Yesterday was orgasmic. It was sunny. Brilliant blue sky sunny. And windy. Sadly, our windex is broken, so I can't quantify, but it was windy. And we had a full crew. And we had a couple of awesome spinnaker sets. And a less than stellar gybe, but hey, it was the first of the season and it was a bit windy. And we laughed. A lot. And we were back, and we were on the water, and it was good. God, it's good to be back. I love these people. This sport, the water, the people, the energy, the everything - it all rejuvinates me. Makes me feel alive! Oh man, ok, serious hoak factor. Sorry, I'll stop now.

The only negative thing, aside from the fact that Loud Mouth Mast Guy was there (hey, I didn't kill him, so that was good) was that just before the first spin set of the run (Not enough wind to worry about any of Saturday's spin sets) I sat there for a bit and seriously doubted myself. My adrenaline was off the chart in a bad way. I was scared. And then I started to think that if I was going to be too scared to do a spin set on a windy day in relatively calm seas within sight of the shore with a fully crewed boat, what the hell am I going to do at 3:00 in the morning when it's REALLY blowing and the seas are high and I'm somewhere off the coast of Newfoundland? Gah. I'm gonna have to work myself through that one. I'm NOT missing this race because I'm afraid! I don't know if he sensed my prior nervousness or not, but the foredeck guy gave me a serious high five after the set (It was an awesome set) and that helped. I can do it, I just need to stop thinking too much.

We've got a couple of weeks off now. Thom's still sailing if we want to go out, but he's given us two weeks off since we're going to be sailing steady for a couple of weeks. He's such a kind hearted guy *cough* not *cough*. I may go out with him, or I may take the opportunity to clean up my flower beds. We'll see what the weather brings.

And... that, I think, about raps it up for the weeeeked reeeecap. (No, no pictures, the battery was low on the camera of which I don't care if I get it wet or not. There'll be some next time)

As you were.
