It is Eye.

Eye with a sunburn. Stupid sun comes out one day this year and I get a sunburn. Stupid sun. Stupid wonderful warm sun. I sat on the deck yesterday for a bit finishing off Margaret Atwood's Cat's Eye. A very very good book that I highly recommend. A bit disturbing, and I recommend it with a warning that anybody who thinks too much might want to read it carefully - there were times I wanted to put it down and never look at it again because it was disturbing - but in the end I couldn't put it down. It's very good.

Lesseeeeee.... What's new.

The sun came out.

That's new.

The enthusiasm is seemingly lacking for the St. Pierre/Miquelon race, which is kind of a bummer. I want to do it. Pooh.

Had a very odd dream last night. Can't remember much of it, just that for some reason I kept having these sort of epileptic fits. Odd.

Anybody who reads this regularly notice that we seem to have grown up over the years? It seems like only yesterday there were flame wars and trolls and such. Now we all seem to go about our own business. Like we've settled into a good grove. Wonder why that is. I'd ask if it were just me but that would indicate that I'd think I'd grown up, and we all know THAT ain't true.

Lessee... Work is good. Sailing is starting next weekend. The weather is finally turning somewhat decent. Swimming is good. Gonna start with the rualking again this week because I don't have the crappy weather for an excuse anymore. It appears, aside from the sunburn, I have nothing to complain about. And it appears if I have nothing to complain about, I have nothing to talk about.

Bummer!

Ok, so... um... what's new with you?

oh, nothing much... council gave us four days notice before the builders arrive to replace all the windows [with upvc frames and doube glazing]... but everything within three feet of the windows has to be moved, so, major disruption etc.

I and the cats are in agreement about this, we don't like it. But at least I'm not getting stuffed in a carrier.

As for the lack of trollery etc.. way I figure it is this; we're all too busy, and too old, to have the energy.

So, when are you doing a trans-atlantic sail?

Nothing trans-atlantic, France owns a little island off the coast of Newfoundland, so I can say I'm GOING to France, but without having to actually go across the ocean. The word's not in yet, but it will be the first of July if and when it happens.

Tell the cats I'm sorry for the carrier. At least the windows will be new and pretty. They'll like sitting in the sun better in them. Less drafts.

And yes, I think you're right. Too busy, lacking in energy and i'm going to go with "grown up" as opposed to too old, if you don't mind overmuch.

Because those of us who are still around don't thrive on drama and chaos? Just a thought.

I got a new cell phone. I recently had a dream that I was sitting on a rocky beach getting a lesson in visualization. What I was seeing was money, flying up from the water like fish and coming toward me. That was kind of neat.

I hope you get to sail to France. That would be so cool.

I read about the cell phone. God, you gotta love gadgets, huh? (I *am* reading, just not commenting that much - hmm... who else do I know who does that... hm... oh yeah, YOU!) :)

If your visualizations come true, can you throw a few money fish my way?

And yes, I think we're all just happy little non chaotic people. Or there's been a massive shift in the universe's energy and things are actually starting to be good for everybody for a change, therefore good, happy people don't feel the need to have to make themselves feel better by (purposefully or un-purposefully) picking fights or trolling, etc.

Guilty as charged.

And I don't think there's anything wrong with being "happy little non chaotic people." I want good things to be happening to people so they don't have to have drama in their lives.

If I want drama I have TV. At least they resolve the drama in an hour and you get a new one every week! *grin*

Eye with a sunburn.

If you lived in Tucson, you'd be wearng SPF 50 sun protection every day like I do. ;-)

It seems like only yesterday there were flame wars and trolls and such.

Ah, I missed all the drama. Maybe we should start some more?... ;-)

Perhaps, but I don't, I live in Nova Scotia, where it rains more than not, and an SPF 18 in the middle of summer is more than appropriate. (But don't tell the dermatologists around here I said that)

Drama you say? Yes, maybe we should. What do you suggest?

If you go around wearing what you aren't in your icon, I'd personally recommend a higher SPF, even in Nova Scotia. ;-)

Something scandalous yet amusing, I reckon. Shock and laughter are always a good combination in my book. ;-)
