I DID IT!

Yessir, I did. Ran the whole thing. And in my own personal best time too. 37 minute for 5K. (yep, not fast by anybody's standards but my own - and that's what counts) I would say I was in the first fourth of the pack. But before that sounds too impressive, there were 7000 people there, and it was a combined run/walk, so if I was in the last fourth I would have been most upset. Many many runners passed me, but no walkers did (thank god!) and at the end I passed many walkers who had passed me as runners earlier. Yay me!

So... lessee...

Actually WENT and participated in an organized run - CHECK.

Actually RAN the whole thing - CHECK.

Ran the whole thing in a personal best time - CHECK.

Brought in (with the wonderous assistance of [livejournal.com profile] fyremaven, [livejournal.com profile] gunhed, and [livejournal.com profile] simonmarshall along with my own contribution) $115 for breast cancer research - CHECK.

(By the way, I don't think it's too late if anybody else is interested I just looked and the website looks like it's still taking donations.)

So overall, t'was a success. And Paul, I seriously think your dad helped me up a hill at one point.

More rambling about the deep inner workings of my brain and all the falderah that it was involved in leading up to the run later. Right now, I think I'm going to go get a shower. And after that... a birthday party for my own dear [livejournal.com profile] fatty666 who is turning the legal drinking age of 19 here in NS. For whom, I might add, I have SCORED the most excellent of birthday presents.

All around a decend day so far, and it's only lunch time. (Oh and for lunch, the most excellent of bean salads.)

Excellent.
