Jan. 23rd, 2006 10:17 amI voted this morning. Something about voting gets me all fecking emotional. Despite the fact that (in my personal opinion) the options are damned if you do, damned if you do, and damned if you do, just the thought of being able to freely go up to the voting place, be handed a bit of paper, be allowed to put my X beside any one of those "damned" choices, pop it in the box, and go about my business without being harassed, or killed or anything. Knowing that there are people in other places who either can't do it, or have died trying to do it... it just gets me right there. And despite the fact that I really don't like any of the choices, I go and vote anyway, because I can. Because you don't have the right to complain about anything if all you ever do is sit at home and... well... complain! And when my candidate loses (which I suspect he will), and when Harper **shudder** gets elected, at least I can say that I was part of the process.
Please DOYC, don't let Harper get elected. Pretty please?
