Things to be greatful... er grateful for today

1) The fact that this is the second day in a row where the sun is shining and the temperature is above freezing

2) The Jimmy Swift Band, which not only is great to sing along to at the top of your lungs in the car, but also provides your fellow motorists with a laugh as they watch you sing along at the top of your lungs in the car

3) The Kid, who continues to be the most wonderful human being on the face of the earth.

4) The fact my husband actually said I looked hot today. (Did my hair in hot rollers and i've got a bit of a Brigitte Bardot look going on today - sans cleavage of course) This may be a thing to be not grateful for, as it may mean that my *real* husband has been abducted by aliens or that the end of the world is near.

5) Lucy the Lovable Golden Retriever who is, hands down, the most lovable and loving dog in the world.

6) The fact that, FINALLY, I'm starting to feel like I'm getting the hell out of this funk I've been in for the past 4 months or so.

It has come to my attention that there are lists of things to be grateful for (or greatful for, it matters not) springing up all over the place.

I am amazed that my effort to start appreciating things I'm happy about in my own world in the effort to stop wallowing in self pity has had this wonderful domino effect.

I feel rather like Oprah right now.

I just came back from the most delicious lunch. A couple of us from work walked down Spring Garden Road - it felt like spring, and I have eaten lunch at my desk now for what seems like years so it was so nice to get out - we went to the Fireside Restaurant and ate until we felt ready to explode. Sauteed Eggplant on Foccacia with beet and sweet potato chips, martinis and awesome coffee with cheesecake and raspberry kutchen for desert.

I'm stuffed.

And Happy.

And sleepy. Thank god my office has a door.... zzzzzzzzz
