We've been bought
no, We've bought somebody.
no, they're eliminating the team I'm on
no, they're eliminating the other team and increasing my workload.
I hate when the corporate "we" play games with peoples lives. I understand the need to keep things quiet until decisions have been made so as not to alarm people, but when you get distinct hints that your job may be on the chopping block, it doesn't do much for morale.
Emails over the past week have included "there will be restructuring, but we'll try to keep job loss to a minimum." "please trust me when I emphazise the importance of demonstrating your future monitary potential". Or voice mails which ask the value of your book of business and how much of it is big and how much of it is little. Or how much more you could take, or how many of your accounts could be managed somewhere else.
Bah.
