Apparently the eye of Hurricane Juan is going to hit Halifax in about 4 hours. I wonder if nobody's buying plywood and everybody's going about their usual business (or as usual as you can get given the fact that nothing's open on Sunday in Halifax)is due to the fact that it's only a category 2 hurricane, or if it's the fact that most Canadians are so laid back you usually have to check for a pulse.

Going to make tea and read the newspaper for a bit.

And I don't know what kind it is.

It's quite long (1 1/2 feet, when all's said and done) and heavy. It looks zuchinni like, but has a tougher rind. It's about as big around as my calf in the biggest part and kind of curls at the top.

Anybody have any ideas what it is?

Not that it matters, I'm going to eat it anyway.

Power's flickering!!!!!!

A wise woman would turn off/unplug her computer now, but [profile] anahata56 posted the livejournal obsession test that had 100 quizzes on it that I haven't seen before, so I must check all of them out first.

Besides, it's not *that* windy yet...
