What's new?
Today's a holiday. Which is a good thing as I have a headache and didn't get out of bed until after 1:00. It's been very low key here today.
Yesterday was Dick's birthday. It was a good day. We went to Peggy's Cove and watched the surf, went out for supper, had cake. It was good. It was nice.
The day before I spent the whole day on the boat. It's not in the water yet. It needed some spots touched up with fiberglass and paint, the bottom wet-sanded and the whole thing waxed and buffed. The weather's been too miserable to do any of it. so we only did the touch-ups on Saturday. I spent a better part of the day upside down measuring the blue line on starboard side of the hull and transferring it to the port side to be taped of to be re-painted. Still got the sanding waxing and buffing to do before it can go in the water, then it needs to be rigged and tuned. HOPEFULLY by next weekend... I forgot how much of a crank-pot the captain was. :) Funny how you forget these things over the winter. Apparently we're not doing Marblehead. Just too much going on in everybody's lives to be able to commit to it, I guess - which kinda sucks. Oh well, maybe next time. On the upside, that leaves me with two weeks of un-claimed vacation.
Friday Dick had his exam, which he thinks he did ok on, and then we just farted around for the rest of the day. Basically, it's been a very farting around kind of weekend.
Mostly because the weather has sucked so badly.
May in Nova Scotia has, on average, 111 mm of rain. So far, as of the 21st of May we've had 166 mm of rain. We had 40-50 mm forecast for the yesterday and I'm sure we got every drop of it but the statistics aren't up on the Environment Canada site yet. Anybody know where I can get a good used ark?
Dick's back on his regular schedule again, which means night shifts tonight and tomorrow night. I've missed the night shifts. These are recharging nights. Fleece and movie, bath and center of the bed nights. There's a bath bomb in the bathroom with my name on it.
