I had a message from my boss when I got in this morning. It said to call her because she had some "good news" for me. OOOOOOOOooooooooooooooh, thinks I. This is IT!

I call her back, quite excited, and she is very pleased to tell me that my wage increase will be on my next pay. AND...... She's been able to increase my increase from 3% to 5%.

That's it?

Um...

That's it?

It was incredibly hard not to tell her to take that extra 2% and stick it. I guess, after sitting for a bit and thinking, 5% is better than 3%, and a whole lot better than nothing at all... But jeeze. What happened to being a full time Account Manager instead of nickle and dimeing me to death in this 50/50 role. I had also asked her a week or so ago if I could at least have the vacation equivalent of a full time Account Manager (a whole 2 days extra) but she never responded. When I asked her today she was hesitant saying that it would have to come out of her budget and she'd have to see...

Fuck that.

On top of that, she's pawned the start-up of four of her customers on me. Three of which are out of province, one of which is going to require a trip to Newfoundland (by plane, though she thought I could drive there - oh, she says, can you look into that too then?)

Did I mention Fuck That?

On the up side...

(thinking)

I suspect I'm going to have to come back for some upside stuff.

I have seriously got to stop looking at the glass as half empty.

Ok, three things:

1. I am grateful I got a raise. I am grateful I got a raise and I have a job and stuff.
2. I got my Amazon order today and am happy with at least two of the three things they sent me (Hey, that's more than half full, right?)
3. I am grateful that it's Thursday before a long weekend and I don't have to work Monday.

The ferry ride to Newfoundland from Sydney is a Pain in the Ass.

When are you going to be on my island, then? I suppose you'll be in St. John's, though. *sigh* Nobody ever comes to Corner Brook.
