THUNDER (na na na na na na na na na)
Aug. 20th, 2004 11:52 amHad a great thunderstorm overnight. I LUV thunder. Today, just surfin' around, I looked up thunder and how it works. Then I looked up lightning and sailboats.
I always wondered what happened when lighting hit a sailboat. I've asked a couple of times, but nobody's ever given me a straight answer. Now I know why. Cuz apparently it's all bad. (Unless you have a lightning protection system, in which many people are still in disagreement with.)
That kinda sucks, because it's very cool to be sailing through a thunderstorm. Now I'll be afraid.
So here's the question for the day (ala
itzwicks style of posting).
If you are in a situation, such as out on a sailboat where there's no chance of reaching safety within 3 hours, and danger approaches, would you rather be aware of the danger, even though there's not a damn thing you can do about it, or would you rather be completely oblivious. You might as well enjoy yourself, since getting toasted is completely out of your hands.
I think I'd choose the latter.
