anigo'Mornin all.
Only got to sail Friday. My hands were too sore to go out Saturday - spent the day at the hospital with my mother, shopping with my sister and brother and then a bit on the boat for the apres sail. I tried sailing Sunday but gave up after trying to get the main up. I could have done it, but there were enough bodies that I didn't need to, and I wouldn't have been at my peek, so I stepped back. And cried. I'm such a dorkus. But there were gale force advisories, and... well... < pout >
It didn't really matter in the end as we had a number of structural failures that caused us to pull out of the race. A rip in our new jib (boo!) Two tears in our new Main (BOO!) and the worst of all, the big-assed fitting that holds the boom to the mast broke causing the two to separate, crushing the vang. It's times like these I'm glad to be crew and not the owner. (Much more cost effective, you know)
Went out Sunday night on the boat with the fam to watch the fireworks. They were wonderful.
Yesterday.. < thinking > Dick worked so The Kid and I went in to see mom and then went to the museum.
So, as you can see, I'm not dead, just vacationing.
Yay me!
And for those of you who know what I'm talking about - they're working. And they're wonderful.
