Three Things
Jul. 25th, 2004 06:19 pmToday I am grateful for...
The Kid. Who is WONDERFUL. Who thinks I am wonderful, despite the fact I can be a real wonker parent sometimes.
Cotton sweatpants from AuCoton. Warm and slovenly and cozy as hell on days whene it's damp and cold out.
Ponderosa Steak House. Where for $9.99 you can have all you can eat salad bar, a half decent steak and all you can eat ice cream. Not gormet fare, by any stretch of the imagination, but lots of food, and sometimes that's all you really want.
And now, for something else. From now on I'm going to do 3 grateful things and one thing I like about myself. It's all about me, isn't it? (Actually, it's all about positive self talk, but that's another story.)
And today's thing I like about myself is....
My feet. I guess that would be things, rather than thing, as I have two of them. They're perfect size nines, with the second toe being longer than the rest. I can turn on the tap in the bathtub with them. I can pick up things with my long toes, they get me where I need to go and I love the look of them. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, today's journal entry is dedicated to my feet.

Uplifting..
Date: 2004-07-25 03:53 pm (UTC)Scanned the rest of your info page and more than a few entries. If you can handle the musings of a right-wing black American guy in the middle of fly-over country from time to time, I'd be honored to join the ranks of your friends list.
Cheers from Oklahoma.

Date: 2004-07-25 05:03 pm (UTC)Kyra_Ojowatever says you've played fairly well with others so far, so certainly, welcome to my wonderful group of friends.
I'moalso going to warn you that I am possibly the most pacifist minded apolitical individual that you're likely to come across.
Oh, and I can't spell.
There, consider yourself warned.

Date: 2004-07-25 05:09 pm (UTC)As you can figure out, today was trolling day through my friends' lists, looking for more people to learn about. As a writer, I don't need to hear my own echo, so it helps to hear from as many others as possible, especially those who's viewpoints are very unlike my own.
I pride myself on keeping an open mind, though I do call 'em as I see 'em from time to time. Check out my bio, and my website for a bit more info on me, and again, thanks for the vote of confidence.
Cheers,
Bryan
