I do websites occastionally. They're not bad... pretty good, I'd say, but that's another question for another day.

In my past couple of years of doing websites I have never actually had to register a domain. The website I do for the boat used to be done by somebody who (I assumed) had a clue. I posted my website to my own personal webspace and the domain name directed the viewer there.

So now the domain name has expired and the person who (I assumed) had a clue has disappeared.

I'm surfing around the gazillion packages and I'm completely confused.

Can somebody tell me what I'm looking for here?

Ideally, what I want is a package that will give me a domain name, give me a bunch of email addresses (currently we have email addresses that are re-directed to our own personal email addresses - like my Hotmail account, for example) and it would be nice if I could actually FTP the files to the same people who are providing my domain, rather than leaving them on my own personal webspace. Also, the captain has another website - so ideally the company should be able to give us two domain names.

He was looking at this: http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/MsHostingHome;jsessionid=26801E880AEAF0D43BEF4999E3118CB8.TC63a?__frame=_top
for $4.99 per month plus an extra $5.99/year for the second domain.

But I'm completely in the dark about things like this.

Any advice, explanations, help, suggestions, whatever, would be more than greatly appreciated.
