I've never in my life asked for a raise before.

Hi Ms. Boss. I apologize for sending this to you so soon after you've come back after your vacation, but I realized while you were gone that I've been an Account Manager for two years. It caused me to think about where I am now compared to where I was two years ago.

In May 2002 I began as a 2-day Account Manager with a pro-rated salary based on $XX,000 and a 2-day Account Management Assistant with a pro-rated salary based on $YY,000. At that time I had 48 customers.

Since that time I have undergone a considerable amount of professional development, both formal and informal. Much of it has been of my own volition and has included university courses such as Marketing, Business, Economics, and Human Resources as well as considerable on the job training. I have gained two full years of experience as an Account manager and my book of business has grown to 57 accounts (an 18% increase). My salary, however, has increased by the two-2% merit increases awarded to me during the same time.

Given these factors I would like to request a salary review.

I appreciate that this might come at an awkward time, but your consideration of this would be greatly appreciated.
