Mar. 8th, 2004 09:22 amYa know wot's funny? The fact that people, me included, have all of a sudden felt the need to show everybody their underwear (AKA their friends list.)
I wonder if that in itself speaks to our insecurities. "Look - I trust you ALL you're ALL my friends... SEE?? SEE?? Doesn't that make me friendly?!?!"
That's my thought for the morning.

Date: 2004-03-08 07:36 am (UTC)I had it sort of professionally done. An ex-boyfriend (John, he who loves telling me I need to lose weight and wear makeup and heels every day) is/was a professional photographer, specializing in 'boudoir' photography. I'm really happy with the pics. The "highly amused" expression on my face is the result of John's continual "you need to lose weight" comments meeting my (stronger) "I love how my body looks" attitude. Idiot. ;-)
I think every woman should have some nude and semi-nude photos taken by a professional. It's *great* for my body image. When we look in the mirror, we seem to only see the problem spots. Looking at a photo (and, to be honest, having someone ELSE gasp and drool over my photo) helps me see and appreciate what's really there!

Date: 2004-03-08 07:48 am (UTC)My underwear, however, is this great little hot pink number with tiny ruffles around the legs and waste band with the word "love" stiched in sequins in the front.

Date: 2004-03-08 07:56 am (UTC)SISTER!!!!!!!!
I'm approaching 38AA myself, but with the layoff I'll probably gain enough fat to make 38A fit again.
I really like those underwire bras with the see-through stretchy mesh cups. They're not terribly durable, but the mesh is stretchy enough that I can buy a size that fits *around* my breasts (maybe you don't share this issue, but my breasts are a size B or C width, and A or AA fullness, so an A cup is really uncomfortable because it doesn't cover the whole breast, but a B or C cup has all this maddening empty space), and the mesh "unstretches" or something and... well, I think you've figured out what I'm trying to say here. They fit. They look good. I likes them.

Date: 2004-03-08 08:08 am (UTC)I wonder if t-shirt material would be stretchy enough? I'd be really tempted to try making my own, but I think that sewing around an underwire would be just a bit beyond my capacity.
