Did you know that when starting a fire in a wood buring appliance such as a fireplace or woodstove that if the chimney of said appliance is not warm enough, smoke will billow profusely out into the room instead of up the chimney?

I do.... now.

Yeah

I knew that. My sister and I discovered this the hard way too.

But a small fan in front of the fire and aim it up the chimney to aid the warm air rising to push the cold air out.

:-)
