anigoI've just completed the application for a part time, on line, MEd in Continued Learning/Leadership.
If figure if I get accepted, I'll decide how close I am to a nervous breakdown before I move on. If I don't get accepted, I'm out an afternoon of pulling together the information, a resume and a letter of introduction and the $50 application fee.
The prerequisites are... "a Bachelor of Education degree or its equivalent, with a grade point average of at least 3.0 (B, or its equivalent); and are expected to have at least one year of teaching or related professional experience. Applicants are expected to possess a background in the specialized area(s) of study to which they are applying; if not, makeup courses will be required."
I don't have a BEd, and I'm not sure what they consider an "equivalent". Hopefully they've put in that option for people like me, though I suspect it's for people from other countries who have formal education... um... education. I also don't have one year of teaching, but I have lots of years of related professional experience, including facilitating and training.
The course, for the most part, is totally right up my alley though. "the program is designed for professionals and academics who want to advance their administrative and leadership capabilities within a leadership role. As well as deepen their theoretical understanding of the field. Theory, knowledge, capacities, practices, and related skills are enhanced through the exploration of school change and improvement, organizational behaviour and theory, school governance, leadership roles, with and cultural diversity."
