Ok, so an update

He has prostate cancer. Apparently it's not that far gone, as the doctor's told him not to worry about making a decision regarding chemo/surgery/radiation. He's going to go for the surgery and she's going to come live with us while he's in the hospital.

Over and above this, I do not know (and she wouldn't think to ask)

I will require booze.

My uncle had prostate cancer. If they've caught it early enough he should be okay.

How you will be with your MIL living there - I don't know. Do you want to come stay with us for a while?

Yeah, I'm not worried for him at all. He kicked ass all over town with the stroke. A little prostate cancer won't hurt 'im. Living with the MIL, though, that's terminal.
