Oh Canada!
Jan. 24th, 2006 09:45 amSo the Conservatives won last night. Big Whoop. What I find odd is that the Atlantic stayed fairly Liberal and the GTA stayed fairly Liberal as well, and I think they said that Manitoba even gained a Liberal seat. So, how did the Conservatives win? Yeah, I know there's a whole lot more in there - representation by population and yada yada... But the funny thing is 90% of the people who have been interviewed or I've spoken to or.. hell... who exist, HATE Harper. Are actually frightened of him. Yet he won. I've heard it said (and don't know if I disagree) that Harper has very similar views to Bush. **Shudder** I find it ironic that most of the people I've heard from or spoken to have the same opinion about Bush as Canadians have about Harper. Coincidence? I think not! [Cue the twilight zone theme] But seriously. These are just my very non educated political views, and politics is right up there with Economics as far as I'm concerned.

Date: 2006-01-24 03:42 pm (UTC)It's all Martin's fault for being such a vindictive, arrogant ass. He was so keen on punishing everyone in his party who had looked at him crosswise that he shot himself and his party squarely in the head. What, did he think he could rend his own pary with impunity? What a toad. The liberals can't get rid of him soon enough for my taste.
The upside is that maybe we can get a few more of the competent Liberals back - like Shiela Copps (Valeri lost) and John Manley (woooo-hooo!)
