Kiddo Update

This weekend the Kid and I took a drive to New Brunswick so she could practice with one of the university volleyball teams. There were 12 high school kids practicing. At the end of the practice the coach told the high school kids that there were 7 of them who he would like to have come to his university next year and play volleyball. He said if any of the kids wanted to know if they were one of the seven they should text him over the next couple of days to see if they "made it"
Jess is on the fence about playing for this school. She's actually not even certain that she even wants to play university ball. I would LOVE for her to play, but in truth, if she doesn't, I'm really ok with it.
She wants to go to a school where she's not living at home. She also is fairly hesitant to go to a school where she doesn't know anybody. She has a friend at this school but just one.
In truth, going to school where she doesn't live at home is going to cost a shit load of money. And unfortunately (or fortunately depending on which lens you have on) Dickie and I make too much money to make her eligible for a low-interest student loan.
Regardless. She has been scouted for a university volleyball team. If she plays or not, it's irrelevant. I'm prouder than punch.
I shall keep you posted, if you'd like.

Oh, I forgot to add. She never did text him. He sent her a text last night saying he wanted her on the team. So she made it. Now to decide what to do with that.
