Day three!
Feb. 22nd, 2014 05:10 pmThree consecutive days of posting, look at me go!
I've been a bit of a combo pack today. Half crankypants, half walkin' on sunshine - literally. The thermometer's been above zero for the whole day, and given the fact that this has been one of the heaviest winters on record in a long time, it's incredible to have the sunshine back. Just came back from a good dog walk and it's gone a long way to making life right.
( some boring stuff on carbo-crankypants )
Anyway, so I had a headache yesterday and yesterday and today the kid is acting like a teenager. She borrowed some beer without asking. She's under age, but to be clear, we have a very liberal drinking policy in my house and I think the kid's way more responsible for it - and at least I know where she is and if she's drinking or not. But I digress... She borrowed some beer last night without asking, which drove me NUTS! It was no more sneaking than taking the last pop tart would have been sneaking, but c'mon! If you're gonna take something I paid for, the least you can do is ask! She went to a party, borrowed some beer and wanted me to pick her up. Again, to be clear, the picking up isn't a bad thing either. I'm going to a party tonight and now that she has her drivers licence she's my designated drive tonight and I picked her up last night - see how great that works? I was fine with it, despite the fact I had a killer headache, it wasn't that far from the house. I planned on dozing off until she called me to come get her. But she woke me at 1 to ask me if she could stay until 2. **eyebrow** Seriously? You woke me up to tell me to come get you later? Growl!!!
Anyway. Top that off with some general standard teenage laziness, some garbage left out where the dogs could get it, having to be reminded more than once to do something, she hasn't had her nose out of her phone all day, stuff like that, it's made me cranky.
And again, to be clear, in the grand scheme of things I know I have a real gem here, so I shouldn't be complaining, but today I have a lower than usual tolerance for it.
Oh well, the sun is shining, the snow is melting, god's in his heaven and all's right on the earth.
Tonight I'm going to a Margarita party, since today is National Margarita day, and tomorrow we get to play for Gold at the Olympics at 8AM.
Really? Life doesn't suck.
