Yes it's me. Time for my annual post (which it seems lately is all I get around to doing)

Ain't got much to say other than life is pretty good. Sure, the usual complaints; memory's going to hell in a handbasket, I'm discovering all the ailments of middle age - indigestion, aches and pains, stuff like that. But aside from all that, things ain't that bad.

So I just thought I'd pop in to say Happy New Year to each and every one of you, and to let you know that I do, indeed, still read your journals pretty much on a regular basis (I just don't actually write in my own anymore).

I also thought I'd review last year's resolutions, and post a few more for the coming year...

So with that, here's last year's resolutions:

1) I am going to be healthier. I will weigh less and be stronger. This involves eating less crap and exercising.I will also stay off the scale. I will not get on the scale because how much the scale says I weigh has absolutely no relation to how I feel about myself or my body. I will also be lighter by March 30th which is when I fly to Punta Cana. I will be in a bikini. It may not be a pretty sight, but I'll be in one. :)

Ok, so I currently do not weigh less than when I posted this. However, I am considerably more fit. And I did weigh less for Punta Cana and I did wear a bikini. (No, I'm not posting pictures)

2) I will travel. Particularly places that require passports. I am now 40. Forty is the age of the traveler. This year I am going to go to Punta Cana and New York at the very least. If my funds provide, I shall also visit my dad in North Carolina or Georgia. If funds further provide I shall go other places too.

I did not get to New York or to North Carolina. I did get to the Dominican and took two trips to Toronto just for the hell of it. I shall do more of this again this year

3) I will continue to get better at throwing things out and saying no. And I will do both things with as little guilt as possible.

This continues to be a hard one, but I'm working on it.

4) I will post more, I will love myself more every day and I will take time for myself on a regular basis.

fail/pass/pass - in that order.

And now, without further ado, here are the resolutions for 2010

1) Screw the weight thing. Who cares how much you weigh. This year you're going to run in a 10K road race or fun run or whatever. You are also going to be able to do 10 real pushups by this time next year. That's it. Healthy goals. In achieving these goals you're going to have to work out, and maybe eat more healthily and I suspect you might even lose some weight in the process, but guess what, it doesn't really matter if you do or don't. (And I 87% believe that - which is very odd for me. For as long as I can remember weight means everything. Now I'm at a point where I'm physically the strongest I've been ever. My Cardio is strong, my muscles are strong... under all this adipose tissue there's a pretty strong chick. Hell, I'm going to go do a 5K resolution run in about 4 hours and I'm not the least worried, aside from the fact it's only -11 out. Yay me!)

2) You are going to focus on focusing. This means less multitasking and less speed and more... focusing. I think much of the memory problems I've had this year are because I spend far too much time trying to do too many things at once and end up spending only about 1/10th of my effort and energy and focus on them, therefore I can't remember half the stuff I've done or should be doing. In addition to this - seriously time to slow down and smell the roses. This also means that I might be getting less done so for the first little while I may have to start paying better attention on where to allocate my time. (ie, less goofing around.)

Easy peasy.

So with that... Happy New Year to all. I loves ya' all and hope that you'll kick 2010 in the ass WAY harder than any year has every kicked you.
