So, you may remember about 2 years ago while racing I ripped all the skin off my fingers of my left hand. Remember that? No? Ok, well I did, and I still have the scars to prove it. During race week this year I got my pinky finger on my left hand jammed between to winch handles during a gybe. (You had to be there) I think I may have broken it. I thought I broke it at the time, but I could still move it fairly easily, but here it is three weeks later and it still hurts. Not only that, I must have banged it hard enough that my shoulder hurts as does the palm of my hand. Can you say reverberation batman? I knew you could. Then, a couple of days ago there was the incident of the grabbing of the hot oven rack - the results of which are still on the fingers of my left hand.
Now this morning, as I was straightening my hair, I burned my index finger of my left hand with the flat iron. Burned it enough that it still stings and there's a decent sized welt. (It's a salon flat iron and gets hot enough to burn the house down if you're not careful)
I suspect that my hand is going to just up and leave me if anything further happens to it. Maybe I should give it a raise. Danger pay?
Poor hand.
