My sister and I went to a movie last night. Just as a reminder, my sister's going through a divorce right now. It's not *particularly* messy, but it is very emotional.

Anyway, we went to a movie that, OBVIOUSLY, the universe needed my sister to see.

So here's the full story. Bear with me, this is long.

Cue the Twilight Zone Music )

So here's the short story.

1. I NEVER get a night out.
2. This is not a movie I would have normally picked.
3. All these odd delays happened so that we ended up at the theatre at EXACTLY the right time.

In my mind, the universe wanted my sister to see this movie. It had a message in it that she just needed to hear, and no matter what, it was going to make sure she got to see it. It was just too odd.

I've sent my sister the link to this post and disabled anonymous posting in case any of my friends have any comments. If, however, I get any messages about the Passion of the Christ, I will be sorely ticked.

1. Isreal got it's first gold medal today. First Ever. This makes me happier than any of Canada's gold medals (and we ain't got many, lemme tell you).

2. One of the gold medals that Canada DOES have was won by 38 year old Lori-Ann Muenzer. Lori-Ann is the oldest athlete on the world track cycling circuit, *and* she's three years older than I. There's hope for me yet! Now all I have to do is buy a bicycle.

3. Apparently I'm getting a monthly "baby bonus" check again. I got them two years ago, not much - about $30 a month. Then last year, I got a check for $30 and a note that said "this is all you're getting this year. We've combined all 12 months into one check." Bummer. I got another $30 check last month, and I assumed that was all I was getting again this year, but lo and behold this month there is another $30 in my account. YAY! On the other hand, this also means that my annual income has somehow dropped under that magic number again. I suspect it was because I had more tuition to deduct... nevermind, this point has already gotten to long. Summary. I get $30 a month just for being a mom.

Now I *REALLY* have to get some work done. No, REALLY!

**Edit**
And another thing...
I just bought a packaged pizza roll from the drugstore downstairs. It's pita bread with cheese and salami and stuff.

The best before date is September 15. That's three weeks from now. Wow.
On the upside, maybe the chemicals that keep the pizza roll fresh might embalm me and let me keep my "fresh-just picked" looks.

Shyeah, right.

Keeping it all in the family, and further to my super long earlierpost, let me present to you [livejournal.com profile] niffer8, my sister.

She's younger, cuter, and smarter, but I love her anyway.

Please introduce yourself to her (especially you, [livejournal.com profile] simonmarshall).
