Feelin' way too damn good

Yay for waking up without a headache! I had a bath last night with lavender milk bath and used Lush's Dream Wash (with Rose, Lavender and Chamomile essential oils) followed up by Watson's Lavender body cream. Went to bed and slept like a log. I actually woke up a) without a headache and 2) feeling like I'd actually had a good night's sleep. Wonder if the lavender had anything to do with it.


My performance review is today. The rumour is that the going "merit" increase is 2%. There is no cost of living increase - which is rather ironic as the cost of living increase around here is also about 2%. I just went over the performance review my boss wrote up for me. Damn, I'm good, and all for a 2% increase. Jeebs, I'd hate to see what happened if you didn't do so hot. I will ask for a big-assed raise, I will ask for a big-assed raise, I will ask for a big-assed raise...

***Edit. I asked for a raise and got turned down yet again. Yay for a 2% "merit" increase. I'm so angry I could just cry.


Dick's first exam is tomorrow. Yay for the first course being over. Hopefully he'll return to his wonderful cheerful self now. One down and only 5 more to go. (sigh) Oh, speaking of courses, one of my professors is going to put my name forward for a scholarship. That'd be kind of nice. I had tossed around the idea of putting the ol' university thing on hold once I have the certificate - partly because the next tier of courses sound horribly mundane - Mathematical Analysis for Economics and Business... Introduction to Probability and Statistics... Managerial Accounting... Finance I and II. There's a perscription for a good sleep right there. However, I realized I also get to take about five electives, so the thought of taking a fine arts course or a peace and conflict course or something in sociology or psychology kind of excites me a bit. Unfortunately I seriously have to get some of my visa paid off before I start whomping tuition on there again. I think a scholarship might just make the difference here...


And finally... Another blizzard on the way tomorrow. It doesn't just "snow" around here anymore. This winter we had "snow" once that I can think of. We have, however, had 3 or 4 blizzards. There is no happy medium. Luckily tomorrow's my day off and the Kid has tomorrow off too. Unluckily my internet connection at home has been acting wonky so the thought of being home all weekend with no internet connection has me considering nipping down to the clinic downstairs for some tranquilizers. Should be interesting, though, to see if Dick does get to write his exam or not.
