Yep - Back
And with a sunnier outlook on life. I even found myself smiling at a christmas tree in somebody's shop window this morning. Only for a moment though. Once I realized I was doing it I stopped immediately! The Kid's christmas concert was last night, and despite the lack of political correctness (It had a distinct feeling of a sunday school christmas concert) I dare a person to remain grincy while watching wee tiny little children bob back and forth on a stage.
My birthday's over and done with. I didn't realize just how much it had bummed me out until it was over. I did, however, get the one thing in the world better than fleece. I got ORANGE FLEECE! I also got a pair of jammies - a pair which I had longingly refered to in an earlier post. A pair that my sister had bought for herself. Blue bottoms with little orange flowers and a bright orange top. A pair that I didn't get because they were rediculously expensive. Well, she went back and got a second set and now I have orange/blue jammies. (I love wearing orange, did I say that?) I also got a couple of great baskets of soap and tea and other assorted goodies.
I have also realized that, while I am getting older, I don't think I'll ever grow up. I went to my 18 year old brother's debate competition last week and they were short on judges so they recruited me. (Poor kids, I've never even SEEN a debate before, let alone judge one.) I was introduced as Mrs. Perigo and had to pass mature judgement on these kids. Talk about trying to act like a grownup. I don't think I pulled it off very well.
Work is insane. A colleague of mine is off and I'm covering for him. It doesn't look like he's going to be coming back either, which sucks, since he's a real doll. He's the guy that took me to see Niagra Falls when I was in Toronto. Meanwhile, I'm trying to do my four days and his five in my four day slot. (And why do I have time to post? I don't really.)
Ok, that's it for now. I have to pretend to do some work.
