So, I'm just hanging out, checking email, surfing until I've finished my coffee.

The Kid comes up to me and we're looking at a website that has a bunch of dumb signs. One of the signs says "Mark's Topless Doughnut Shoppe". The kid looks at me and says "They serve only the bottom half of the Doughnut?" I laugh. "No," says I. "They serve them without shirts on." The Kid is perplexed for a moment, and says... "But Doughnuts don't wear shirts." Coffee comes out of my nose.

Thom called last night. They're going sailing today - just a blast around the bay, he says. I don't have a clue when Dick will be home and The Kid doesn't want to go - and it will be cold, so I don't blame her - the landlubber. {pout} That's kind of dumpy. I suspect the boat will be out of the water soon. Hmmm... 15-20 knots. That's a decent wind. It will be cold. Still... I'd sail in January. I'm a fool. So sue me.

The Kid wants to go on a pony ride today. I guess we can swing that.

I've got a crap load of travelling coming up for work. All of it local enough that I can't fly, but far enough that I'm going to be doing a lot of driving. Pffft. On the up side, even though the per kilometer rate isn't wonderful, it doesn't take too many road trips before I get a fairly decent expense check. I've got enough expense checks outstanding that I have enough to pay off my Visa. These road trips might give me enough to go to New York with my sister in December - or at least enough to make the rest of it fairly reasonable. Oh, quick calcuations say it will give me about $700, which is more than enough to go to New York with some spending money left over. And yes [livejournal.com profile] tigermorph, I know that's almost enough to go to Colorado. Hopefully I'll have more roadtrips between Christmas and September next year.

Tuition? What tuition. I think if we can pave the driveway and the cost of the new ATV that wasn't covered by insurance on the line of credit we should be able to put one schmeezely old accounting course there too, don't you? (That's all I have left to do in the first section of the BBA, and yes, I think I'll pull up my pants and do it in the upcoming winter term.)

Ok, this is me going to get a shower and then going for a pony ride.

Well, you can probably earn a few bucks at the topless donut place. But I'd stay away from the schmeezely accounting. It wasn't that successful at Enron, Worldcom, and Tyco.

And yes, it's probably a good idea to pull up your pants before going to school.

Heh. donuts without shirts. Coffe woulda come out of *my* nose too.

One other thing - you can go to New York for 700 bucks?

I didn't know that! I'd have thought it would be a whole lot more.

Expedia's giving me $482 with a stop in Boston. $506 to go direct. Sure, there's expenses on top of that, but once you get there I'm sure there are pleanty of soup kitchens around. :)
