Good Saturday Morning to You

anigoIt's 10:15 and I'm on my first cup of coffee. I only just got out of bed. (Assuming you don't count the 5:30 trip to let the dog out.) How luxurious is that!?!? It poured this morning, and if there is ANYTHING better than laying in bed with a feather duvet around your ears listening to the rain on the roof, I don't know what it is. Ok, yes I do, but I'm not going there this morning.
Sadly, the kid wouldn't let me sleep in any longer. She was "bored without me". I love her, truly and deeply, but I am the center of her universe. This is very cool, but also a huge responsibility. I'm always the one she comes to when she needs something or when she hurts something or, as in this case, when she's bored. I would LOVE somebody to run interference a little more often, but.. hey, what can you do. On the other hand, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. She's freekin' wonderful. I have more little "I love you" notes tucked around and she's always the one who knows if I've had a bad day and gives me a hug. (Though that part is kind of a crappy responsiblity for a seven year old to take on.)
The house looks like there was a frat party here last night - without the beer. I'm in non-cleaning mod - and it shows. Yippee for lazyness. Dick doesn't get home until tomorrow, so I'll clean up and some point, but in the meantime - Party On, Wayne. (Damn, I'm dating myself, aren't I.)
I did manage to get in a great candle-lit bath last night with nut bubble bath (remember the stuff that makes you feel like you're having a bath in hot chocolate) It was just me and Charlotte Martin, of whom I now have the lyrics to her songs and will be posting them at random, and the dog, who likes eating bubbles but who was kind of wigged out over the candles.
That was a bit of a run-on sentence, wasn't it.
Well, there it is so far. The kid is standing over me asking me if she can refill my coffee cup or get me breakfast, so now I shall resume my official status of "the world's best mom" and leave the computer for a while.
