Well hello, and welcome to an update of the Journal. I realized that it's been May since I posted last, so i figured I'd try to post today just for the hey-hey of it. I shall, however, post in point form to keep you busy people from getting bored.
- Thom sold DML and bought a Beneteau . A very nice cruising boat. Supposed to be a good race boat too. But it's just not DML. It has an oven for pete's sake. And a furnace. And a door on the Head. All this shit takes up weight goddamit, It feels rather like racing in a winnabago. Nuff said
- I bought 3 kayaks once I realized DML was being sold. I LOVE them. I am now a kayaking chick. It's almost as good. Once I get comfortable enough to actually go out on the ocean and brave some elements and waves I suspect it will be just as good.
- Work is work. Don't hate it. Don't love it either. Vacation next week (supposed to be the offshore race to Saint Pierre, but we're not doing it, so I'll just stay home and kayak)
- Waiting impatiently to see how much I failed the CHRP exam by. I will post the results when I get them (should be this week) if anybody's interested. Oh, It appears i didn't post about that in the first place. Wrote the Certified Human Resources Professional exam in May. Figure I failed it, but it was EVIL and the pass mark was 70. None the less, I'm hoping...
Ok, that's your 30 second update. I must go make supper.
C-ya.

Good to see you posting again. Sorry to hear that you won't be racing with the old crew. Was just wondering if you could find a new boat to join. I'm thinking that although sea kayaking sounds like a real challenging and exhilarating past time, it must be by nature, a solitary activity that can't replace the camaraderie of sailing with a crew.
Have fun with your new toys, but be careful out there, 'K?
